'The Intouchables'

Echt vree wijs!

Stand up for the gay rights

Dear members of the International Olympic Commitee,

I am Silke Lenssens and I read the letter of Stephen Fry about the anti-gay laws in Russia. He complains about the Olympic Winter Games that are going to take place in Russia. He want to boycot the games, because Russia discriminates the LGBT's. I want to give you my opinion about this and hope I could give you some advice.

The Olympic Games are ment to bring people together, not to discriminate them about there sexuality or origin. I agree with Stephen fry about the anti-gay laws. these rights aren't human. every person should be treated the same. But I don't agree with Stephen about to boycot the games. I think you should let the games go on in Russia, but only if they change there rights for the LBGT's. You should put Putin under pressure.Give him the choice to change the rights and keep the Olympic Games in Russia or to ignore it and replace the Games to another country. You could also make a campaign with the Olympics biggest sponsor, Coca Cola.

I hope you will take this letter seriously and think about my advice I gave you.

kind regards
Silke Lenssens

my most exciting holiday moment

This summer I went with the BNT U16 to Bulgaria for the European Championships. Our hotel was in Albena, but we played games in Varna. My roommate was Fauve. When we went to the games, we had to take the bus for like 45 minutes. This was very anoying. Our main goal was to stay in division A.

We had to play 9 games in total. After 8 games we only won 2. Those were against The Netherlands and Bulgaria. because we lost most of the games we had to play for place 13 or 14. But places 14,15 and 16 would be going down to division B next year. So this game was very important. Our opponent were The Netherlands. We already played against them in the beginning of the EC. We won that game, so The Netherlands were ready for there payback.

The day of the game I was really stressed out! We really needed that win! We started really bad, at the half time we were 15 points behind. We started better in our 3th quarter. We came back till 5 points. The first half of quater 4 we stayed 5 points behind. The last 3 minutes of the game we stood equal! Now we had to go over them! there were only 20 seconds left and we were up by 1 point. We kept the ball in offense as long as we could. The last 5 seconds The Netherlands had one more chance to win the game, but they missed there shot! So we won the game with 1 point! That meant that The Netherlands had to go to division B, and we stayed in A. We reached our goal.
